NOM-004-SCFI-2006 is an Official Mexican Standard that regulates the commercial information and labeling requirements for textile products, clothing, their accessories, and household linens sold within Mexico.
The standard applies to products made from natural fibers, chemical (synthetic) fibers, or a combination of both, including items such as garments, fabric accessories, and household linens (e.g., towels, bedding), even if they incorporate non-textile materials like plastics. Its primary purpose is to ensure that manufacturers, domestic producers, and importers provide clear, accurate, and standardized labeling information to consumers and authorities. This facilitates transparency in the marketplace and ensures compliance with Mexican commercial regulations.
